Our story began in Seville ten years ago, and we knew we were meant to be together. Since then, we have built a life together across two countries, two cultures, and two families that are now officially coming together. On 14 August 2026, we want to celebrate and share our love with you in the south of Italy, surrounded by the people we love most.

THE MASSERÍA
The Fortified Masseria San Francesco stands in Matera, known as the City of the Sassi and considered one of the oldest in the world. The Fortified Masseria represents a living testimony of the extraordinary human presence and activity in the area, documented from prehistory to the present day without interruption. The original core on which the Masseria currently stands dates back to the distant year 1600, as evidenced by the presence of an ancient square tower, built as an observation and watchtower over the entire wide Bradano Valley. Over time, new sections from different eras have been built upon it, aimed at restoring and highlighting the full beauty and authenticity of the ancient remains.

Where to stay?
Here are some accommodation options. For convenience, we recommend that you do not stay within the historic centre of Matera (the Sassi). We also suggest booking as early as possible and checking the price on each accommodation’s own website, as in most cases they offer the same rooms at a lower price than Booking or Airbnb.

The suggested accommodations are located in a specific area, around Parco del Castello de MateraWe recommend this area because it is one of the best for visiting Matera, as it is located right next to the historic centre and close to the central station, where many of you will probably arrive. Additionally, we are trying to coordinate a shuttle service from this point in the city to make transport from Matera to Masseria San Francesco easier.

Will the ceremony be outdoors?
Yes, the ceremony will be held outdoors. In case of bad weather, a covered alternative is available.
What is the weather like at that time?
The weather is usually warm. Sunny days with high temperatures during the day. It can get slightly cooler in the evening. We recommend: sunscreen and sunglasses 🙂
Is the wedding adults-only?
No! Children are welcome, and there will be entertainment provided for them.

How to get there
The Masseria is located about 4 km from the centre of Matera (10 minutes by car). The nearest and most convenient airport is Bari (Karol Wojtyła Airport – BRI), located about 45 minutes by car. Shuttles run continuously from the airport to the city centre and cost approximately €3–6 per person. If you are elsewhere in Italy and are not hiring a car, you can also reach Bari by train and then take a bus to Matera.
Plane
Ryanair offers direct flights from Seville Airport (SVQ) to Bari (BRI). It is the fastest and most convenient option. At the airport, you can hire a car or take the shuttle to the centre of Matera.
Bus
Companies such as Marozzi or Flixbus connect Matera with the main Italian cities (Rome, Florence, Milan). We recommend buying your ticket online to secure your seat.
Car
Once you arrive in Italy, hiring a car is the option we most recommend if you have more time and want to make the most of your trip by visiting the Puglia and Basilicata regions.
Train
Matera does not have a direct train connection, so you will need to arrive at Bari Central Station and from there take the shuttle to Matera Centrale.
